Our Pioneer Day

Since Heather's family was in town for the 24th of July we decided we needed to have some big plans. We ended up having a big Pioneer Party. We started off with a delicious breakfast and watched the Parade. It was fun to see all the floats we saw in person on the TV. Then the girls made Handkerchief Dolls and Spencer made a tin lantern. We then headed outside for some old fashioned Pioneer Games. We started with the Stick Pull.
I won this one with Heather....it was close though.
Ben totally won this round. In fact he was the clear winner of the day!
On to the 3-legged races.... Heather and Kurt were the clear Champions. Ben and I won in strength, but they got us in speed!
Our cute girls put together a marching band for us.
After lunch we headed over to Foam Days sponsored by the Lehi Fire Dept. This was a lot of fun!
Sydney-check out this girls tan!
Spencer doing Foam Angels. He was the only one I could get to lay down in it.
Here's the whole group. My brother Rob was the daring one who dove in and played with the kids. It was a bit messy but looked really fun!
After the Foam Fun we headed home for a short nap and then went back to Grandma's for some Icecream! We had to work for it though. Here is Ben shaking up his bags.

Grace and Abbie....I love her look "This had better be worth it mom."
The final product was delicious! Well...mostly. Some of the kids got a little ambitious in the adding of their ingredients but my vanilla was pretty good.

What a fun day we had celbrating with our family and remembering the Pioneers!
